moto-x-2014-review-3The Moto X from Motorola is a smartphone that is already in its second generation – and you can be sure that there is a third generation which is in the works. In terms of its software, the device is all set to be on the receiving end of the Android 5.1 Lollipop update over in the US. How do we know this? Simple, Motorola’s David Schuster shared earlier this morning over Google Plus.

“I am happy to announce that we have been approved to start full deployment of the Android 5.1 Lollipop upgrade for Moto X (2nd Gen) Pure Edition in the US.” was what David Schuster posted, and it will surely be good news to those who happen to own the 2014 model of the Moto X. Do take note that the Over The Air (OTA) update was already promised earlier on, and Motorola did run into a slew of issues where the Android 5.1 Lollipop update on the Moto X (2014) is concerned, and thankfully, all of it is water under the bridge now.

Interestingly enough, the first generation Moto X has already made the jump from the KitKat platform to Android 5.1 Lollipop, so better late than never applies in this particular case. Are you looking forward to the improvements that will accompany Android 5.1 Lollipop?
