nexus-6-question-closeup-w782It is expected that later this year, we could be treated to new Nexus handsets. In fact if the rumors are to be believed, LG and Huawei will be building two Nexus handsets and according to a recent image spotted on Google’s Android website, it is possible that we might have caught a glimpse of at least one of them.

This is thanks to a tip-off the folks at AndroidPIT have received from one of their readers. As you can see in the image above, it shows someone holding a phone that looks kind of similar to the Nexus 5. However it does seem to be a bit bigger but that might only be due to the way the photo was taken. Given that the Nexus 6 is the latest Nexus phone, it would have made sense for Google to use that phone instead, right?

This has led to speculation that phone pictured could be the upcoming Nexus handset, at least one of them. There is some basis to this speculation. After all prior to Google officially unveiling the Nexus 5, the handset was “leaked” in a video and was spotted by users straightaway, whereupon it was confirmed when the handset was officially launched.

It is possible that we could be looking at another similar situation here, but we suppose it’s best not to speculate too much, but what do you guys think? Does the handset in the photo above appear to be larger than the Nexus 5, or are we reading too much into things?
