nochromoDon’t like viewing ads while you’re surfing? Well there’s plenty of options for that if you were surf on your computer. However when it comes to mobile, there aren’t as many options. Sure there are a few, and more than a few of them requires the user to root their phone, a process which some aren’t familiar with or comfortable with.

The good news is that if ad-free websites is something you absolutely have to have, NoChromo is an Android app worth checking out. This is a browser that is based on Chromium and the best part of it is that it comes with a built-in ad-blocker and malware-blocker, so not only will you be able to surf ad free, but you should be relatively safe from malware too.

Best of all, the app does not require users to root their phones so you can just go ahead and download it and use it without any issue. It is only for Android at the moment although it seems that it isn’t available for download via the Google Play Store, so if you want to download it you’ll have to get the APK file and sideload it yourself, which you can hit up the XDA forums for the details on how to proceed (and with caution).

In the meantime iOS users needn’t feel left out. Previously it was discovered that in iOS 9, Safari was updated with content blockers which could in theory allow ad-blocking software to be installed.
