Project Cars from Slightly Mad Studios was finally released last month after a couple of delays. The developer initially did a crowdfunding campaign for this title which enable it to develop and later release Project Cars. Now that the title is out you might wonder if Slightly Mad has any plans for a sequel, which it most certainly does. Project Cars 2 has now been announced by Slightly Mad Studios and like last time it’s running a crowdfunding campaign for the title.

The campaign for Project Cars 2 is now live at the World of Mass Development platform, there’s no goal set yet for the project but backers can contribute in various tiers that range from $45 which gives access to the game all the way up to over $11,000 which gets them a Michelin-starred dinner with the studio head, all costs covered stay at a London hotel and even a luxury weekend itinerary with the use of a Ferrari 458 Spider.

The studio has pointed out that work on the sequel doesn’t mean that they will stop pushing updates and new content for Project Cars, it confirms that the title will continue to evolve and be updated regularly throughout the year.

It will also start planning for the continuation of this franchise with Project Cars 2 which will have substantial features and content “deserving of a fully-fledged sequel.”

It’s safe to say that we’ll have to wait for over a year for the sequel to arrive.
