Ouya’s rise to fame was one to be witnessed. The company raised over $8.5 million for its Android micro-console which basically allowed people to play Android games on the big screen. It’s popularity grew with independent developers but it was short lived, the console didn’t really perform as well as the startup would have wanted and developers never really made any substantial amount of money by selling games on Ouya. There were rumors about a potential sale of Ouya and according to a new report it might be Razer that picks it up in the end.

Previous reports suggest that Ouya was trying to find a footing in China, it was even reported that the company was considering a round of investment from Alibaba for as much as $10 million.

CNET reports today that Ouya is in talks with Razer, a company that gamers are all too familiar with. The deal hasn’t been finalized yet and discussions are reportedly ongoing regarding methods to bring Ouya’s staff into Razer.

It is expected that Ouya will function under Razer’s ownership and continue to offer its services, but whether or not that will bring about a change in fortunes for its service remains to be seen.

So far both companies have not commented about the potential deal.
