htc-one-m9-live-9The camera on the HTC One M9 isn’t exactly spectacular despite HTC’s attempts. The company had pushed out an update earlier this year followed by another one a couple of weeks ago. However the update that was released a couple of weeks ago was for the global version of the phone, meaning that handsets on carriers had to wait.

The good news is that if you’re a HTC One M9 owner on Sprint, you might not have to wait too long. According to a recent tweet by HTC’s Mo Versi, he has revealed that the camera improvement update for the Sprint version of the phone is scheduled for a release on the 1st of July which is only in a couple of days!

According to Versi, “HTC One (M9) Sprint Owners! We have received technical approval on Lollipop OS 5.1 which includes camera improvements. OTA to start on 7/1!” So if you’re on Sprint then perhaps this is an update you’ll want to keep an eye out for. We don’t expect that all users will get it straight away but hopefully it will reach you within the week or the next.

The update should bring about improvements such as more balanced auto exposure, reduced noise, and better performance in extreme lighting conditions. In the meantime it is unclear as to when the update will be pushed out to other carriers but we’ll be keeping our eyes peeled for it.
