Star Trek Beyond
The third installment of the Star Trek has been confirmed and it will be known as Star Trek Beyond. The director Justin Lin took to Twitter to announce about the forthcoming flick, the tweet included an image of Star Trek franchise’s well known delta shield on a retro looking sleeve patch.

Retro patch takes you all the way back to the great ‘60s and brings back all the memories about the franchise’s past releases. The movie is currently under production and is being shot in Vancouver. It will be featuring the return of Zachary Quinto, Chris Pine, Zoe Saldana, Simon Pegg, and Idris Elba.

The title of the movie speaks volumes about Lin’s previous statement that clearly stated that the forthcoming flick won’t be taking much from the original Star Trek television series. In a conversation with a daily, Lin said, “It’s all new and fresh. The Klingons, Romulans, and other species are great, but it’s time to go further. It has been fun to focus on creating whole new worlds and species.”

Interestingly, Paramount pictures has scheduled Star Trek Beyond for July 8, 2016 release, which is 2 months before the 50th anniversary of the franchise on September 8th. Keeping in mind Lin’s announcement about the movie being different from the original TV series, it would be interesting to see what twist this one brings along.
