tmo iphone bsodWhen we say blue screen of death (or BSOD), we usually think of Windows computers as that usually happens when a critical error occurs and your computer crashes. However it seems that iPhone owners on T-Mobile’s network are experiencing those issues as well, oddly enough. This is according to several reports across social media channels, Reddit, and the folks at MacRumors have received several complaints from their readers as well.

It should be noted that not every iPhone on T-Mobile is affected, but for now it seems like this is affecting iPhones on the carrier’s network. What happens is that a blue screen will suddenly appear and a split second after, the iPhone will restart. This restart occurs more than once and there are reports that the cycle repeats every 10-30 minutes.

It also does not seem to be specific to any iPhone or iOS version as users with the latest iPhone 6, 6 Plus, and iPhone 5s users are reporting problems. Users who have iOS 8.1-8.3 are also reporting that they have been affected as well. According to a T-Mobile support staff, it is believed that this might be a memory problem, although some speculate if a carrier update T-Mobile might be trying to push out could be the issue.

T-Mobile is also apparently recommending that customers who are facing this problem perform a hard reset (press and hold the power and home buttons at the same time for 10 seconds until the device restarts) on their iPhone. There are some who report that this issue goes away after a hard reset so if you are faced with this problem, perhaps that is a solution worth checking out.
