edge address barWhen surfing on your computer, your phone, or tablet, typically the address bar of the website is placed at the top. This is more or less ubiquitous across most browsers. However Microsoft believes that placing the address bar at the bottom makes more sense for mobile users which is what they have done.

This was spotted in the latest build of Windows 10 Mobile which was apparently leaked, and one of the changes that was noticed in the build was the relocation of the address bar in the Edge browser, which for those unfamiliar is Microsoft’s latest browser that will be used on Windows 10 and Windows 10 Mobile.

As you can see in the screenshots above, courtesy of MSMobile.pl, the address bar has been moved to the bottom which is admittedly a better place. Since our phones these days tend to sport larger displays, trying to stretch your thumb to access the bar can be inconvenient especially if you have small hands.

However by placing it at the bottom, users should have no issue accessing it and can continue to type and access it like they normally would while texting, which is using both of their thumbs at the bottom of the screen. Of course we can’t guarantee that Microsoft will be sticking to this layout as things could change ahead of the final release, but in the meantime do you agree with the placement?
