While Blizzard has greatly improved the visuals of the game over the years, it’s safe to say that its graphics are nowhere near the levels of other MMORPGs out there, or even some FPS games. We suppose there is the argument to be made about how gameplay should be prioritized and not graphics, but that’s a debate for another day.

In the meantime have you ever wondered how World of Warcraft would play or feel if it were to be remade using a different engine, like that of Unreal Engine 4? Well wonder no more because modder Daniel Luchau has done just that. Luchau has managed to recreate Elwynn Forest using Unreal Engine 4, giving the zone was beautiful makeover.

For those unfamiliar, Elwynn Forest is a classic zone in World of Warcraft and it is where low level Alliance characters usually start and hang around at. If you have ever played an Alliance character and hung out in Elwynn Forest, you will be able to appreciate how much effort went into recreating it.

There is the town of Goldshire, the Westbrook Garrison, and even the “Hogger Wanted!” poster can be seen, along with various subtle touches that makes it look so good. According to Luchau, he plans to eventually do Duskwood and Westfall and release it for free on VR. Now that would be something worth looking forward to.
