From time to time and to keep things interesting, Blizzard releases major patches for World of Warcraft in which new features are added to the game. Sometimes they’re novelty features, sometimes they’re useful, but overall it helps to spice things up a bit, especially when you consider that World of Warcraft has been around for at least 10 years.

Now we have been hearing about Patch 6.2 for a while now and if you’re wondering when it will be released, Blizzard has a date for you. The developer announced on the World of Warcraft blog that Patch 6.2 – dubbed Fury of Hellfire – will be going live on the 23rd of June which coincidentally enough is next Tuesday which is also when Blizzard shuts the game down temporarily for maintenance and patching.

This patch is a heavy one and will be introducing a lot of new features to the game. For starters it will see new mounts that players can try and earn. There will also be a Mythic difficulty level for dungeons, and players will also be able to build ships in their shipyard, introducing a naval aspect to the game that was never there before.

Most importantly, at least according to players, Patch 6.2 will finally introduce flying to Warlords of Draenor’s zone. Prior to this Blizzard had reiterated their stance on the no-flying policy but due to the outrage from gamers, they finally reached a compromise in which players had to complete certain achievements and raise reputations before finally being allowed to fly.
