DxOMark-Xperia-Z3-_2-640x381The Sony Xperia Z3+ is basically the Xperia Z4, except that the model will be destined for markets outside of Japan. Now given that the phone wasn’t really much of an upgrade over its predecessor, safe to say that not many are expecting too much from it.  However if you love your smartphone cameras, you might be interested to learn that the Xperia Z3+’s camera is actually pretty decent.

This is according to the folks at DxOMark who have ran the camera through some tests and put it through its paces and according to their findings, it seems that the Xperia Z3+ has the best camera amongst all of Sony’s Xperia lineup. In fact as you can see in the graph above, the Xperia Z3+ ranks behind the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge and the Galaxy Note 4 in terms of overall camera quality.

That’s actually saying a lot given that Samsung’s smartphone cameras have been consistently topping the competition. In fact the graph shows that the Xperia Z3+ is actually on par with the iPhone 6 and its larger sibling, the iPhone 6 Plus. According to DxOMark, they found that the handset’s camera was fast at autofocusing and had good overall exposure.

Unfortunately in terms of video, they found that the phone wasn’t as fast to autofocus although its video stabilization was noteworthy. The Xperia Z3+ has no US release date for now, but last we heard Verizon was launching a variant of it called the Xperia Z4v.
