doom 4During E3 2015 back in June, the folks at Bethesda and id Software took the wraps off the latest title in the Doom franchise. Simply called Doom, this is actually the latest Doom in the past decade or so, especially when you consider that the game was actually in development for the past few years, only to be restarted halfway.

That being said now that things appear to be well on their way, we’re sure gamers are looking forward to participating in alphas or betas if possible. The good news is that if you are, you might be interested to learn that during QuakeCon, it was revealed that the game’s multiplayer alpha is expected to begin soon.

The alpha will be available for gamers on the PC, Xbox One, and the PlayStation 4, although there was no mention of when exactly. There is a slight catch and that is gamers who wish to participate in the alpha will need to be in the beta pool. In order to be in the beta pool, you will need to have pre-ordered Wolfenstein: The New Order.

For those who haven’t pre-ordered the game, it looks like you guys are out of luck, but who knows maybe closer to the game’s official release, Bethesda will open up the beta to the rest of the public. In the meantime Doom has no specific release date either but it has been pegged for a Spring 2016 release, assuming there are no hiccups along the way.
