Over the past few months we’ve seen Facebook make several tweaks to improve the News Feed experience where users are likely to spend most of their time, so it’s important to ensure that they get to see posts and updates from people and Pages that they care about instead of things that they might not be interested in. The company has introduced some new tools today which will let you better curate your News Feed experience.

You can now select which friends and Pages you would like to see at the top of your News Feed, previously this sort of prioritization was not possible. A star will be displayed alongside all posts from prioritized sources to let you know that they’re at the top because you selected those people or Pages.

Facebook will now connect you with new Pages that you might be interested in based on your previous likes, you can also discover new relevant Pages on your own and “like” them if you would like to see their stories in your News Feed.

You will now be able to view a list of top people, groups, Pages that you’ve seen in your News Feed over the past week and from there you can decide to unfollow a friend, group or Page if you no longer want to see their updates. From here you can also follow someone that you’re unfollowed in the past.

All of these new tools are present under News Feed Preferences that can be accessed by tapping on More in the bottom right hand corner of the app, News Feed Preferences will be found under Settings. These tools are rolling out today for users on iOS and will be available to desktop and Android users in the next few weeks.
