samsung_galaxy_j1Yesterday we reported that the Samsung Galaxy J2 handset had reportedly been confirmed. This isn’t so much an official confirmation but rather a listing on Zauba’s website which seems to indicate that handset truly exists. The listing also revealed some of the specs of the upcoming handset, but now we have more details to share.

This is thanks to the folks at SamMobile who managed to get their hands on additional details of the upcoming phone. Now previously the Zauba listing revealed that the phone would be powered by a quad-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz and would run on Android 5.1.1 Jelly Bean.

Now according to SamMobile, they claim that the processor is of the Exynos 3475 make and it will be a 32-bit processor. They confirm its 1.2GHz clock speed and is 1.5GB of RAM, 8GB of onboard storage, and a microSD card slot for memory expansion. Given that we’ve seen 16GB phones struggle with storage, safe to say that if you were to get this phone, you’d definitely need a microSD card.

The phone is also rumored to sport a 4.5-inch TFT LCD display with a very low resolution of 480×800, but then again the Galaxy J-series is meant to be a budget range, so we guess keeping the resolution down also helps keep costs down. The Galaxy J2 is also rumored to come with a 5MP rear-facing camera, a 2MP front-facing camera. No word on when the phone will be released but we’ll keep our eyes peeled all the same.
