Rumors and reports about the Galaxy Note 5 are steadily picking up speed as September approaches with each passing day, the latest out of China suggests that this year’s flagship phablet from Samsung is going to have a feature called Write on PDF, which will let you do precisely what the name suggests. The S Pen will be an integral part of this feature and it would be the first time that a handset from the Galaxy Note lineup comes with this feature.

Recently Samsung filed for a patent regarding a feature that lets users edit PDF documents directly using their handwriting, eliminating the need to install third party applications for this purpose.

Reports out of China suggest that this patented feature by Samsung is going to make its first appearance on the Galaxy Note 5 as the handset itself is expected to feature an updated S Pen stylus that offers a few new features itself.

The Note lineup already has a direct screen write feature but it doesn’t support PDF files right now, it would be a huge productivity boost for users if they were able to do this with PDFs as well.

Samsung is going to unveil the Galaxy Note 5 at the IFA 2015 in September.
