It’s not uncommon for carriers to release incremental updates for mobile devices and T-Mobile has sent out one such update today for the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge. This is the first such update for these devices after there were updated to Android 5.1.1 not too long ago, however users shouldn’t keep their fingers crossed for any major improvements or new features, this is just an incremental update which primarily brings performance improvements and bug fixes.

This is not the only update that’s being rolled out for the two devices today, earlier today a similar update was sent out in France which also features bug fixes and performance improvements. It’s likely that this update could be rolled out in other markets as well.

Users on T-Mobile don’t need to worry about a hefty download since the update only weighs in around 102MB, the changelog mentions battery and performance improvements as well as bug fixes.

Many T-Mobile users had complained about a bug on the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge since they were launched, the bug caused battery drain when VoLTE was enabled, they’ll surely be keeping their fingers crossed hoping that T-Mobile has addressed the issue in this update.

T-Mobile is rolling out the update for both devices over-the-air and it should go live for all users across the country very soon.
