AT&T isn’t the quickest of carriers when it comes to releasing software updates for Android devices but this has turned out to be a good day for people who own the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 10.1 LTE on the country’s second largest mobile network. The carrier is rolling out the Android 5.1 Lollipop update for this tablet today and it brings all of the improvements and features that are part and parcel of Lollipop.

The Galaxy Tab 4 10.1 LTE is a decent mid-range tablet that AT&T has been selling for a while now, it’s good to see that it’s finally getting the highly anticipated Lollipop update now because it’s been a long time since this update has been out.

Carrying build number LMY47X.T537AUCU1BOG5 the update weighs in just under 1GB and brings Lollipop improvements such as the updated user interface, improved notifications, screen pinning and alarm as well as enhanced security software and better memory management.

It also brings an updated quick settings for better Wi-Fi and Bluetooth management, aside from that the update removes several preloaded apps which includes Beats Music, WatchON and Famigo.

Once the update is installed the tablet will be on Android 5.1 and it’s safe to say that it will stay there for a while, no other major update would be available for it quite so soon.
