Overwhelmed by the sudden growth in your Instagram followers? Well, that might be the work of a bug, which has got many users an abnormal growth in their followers. After identifying the bug, Instagram is working on fixing the issue and will soon be rectifying the followers count, which would eventually leave many users who were riding high on their growing Insta popularity — disappointed.
Instagram stated that the bug had resulted in many users earning good following, now the bug is being fixed and the figures are going to the same old position. The increase in the followers would be solved permanently once the bug is fixed. Many users took to Twitter to express their surprise when they saw an abnormal increase in their followers after the latest image posted on the app. Some users were also suspecting it to be a hacking activity.
Instagram’s representative said in a statement, “Some people’s follower counts (as shown on their profiles) have spiked (incorrectly) due to a bug. We’re fixing the bug and counts will be made accurate once we’ve got it fixed,”
For all those who had no idea about the bug and were really thinking that their photography has got them huge followers, we are sorry for breaking it to you. The followers count will soon go back to normal as soon as the bug is removed.
