Taking a photo and uploading it to Instagram is a pretty straightforward process. You snap your photo, Instagram then gives you some options to edit it with filters, and then you proceed by captioning it and adding a location, and you’re done. However according to the folks at Droid-Life, Instagram appears to have a newer and faster method in the works.

As you can see in the video above, basically Instagram skips over the middle part of the process. Now after you take a photo, you’ll be taken to the posting page where you can swipe left and right to choose your filters, thus essentially saving you a step in the process. It even appears to fill in the location of where the photo was taken.

Of course this is just a suggestion and you can still choose a different location if Instagram’s suggestion was wrong. For those who miss the more comprehensive editing tools, don’t worry they did not go anywhere. Instead users can just press the “Edit” button and be taken back to the familiar editing interface.

From there they can choose filters, edit brightness, tilt the photo, and so on. That being said, it seems that this new feature is rolling out via a server-side update and seems to be only available on Android at the moment. If you’d like to check it out, you can try clearing data on your Instagram app and updating it.
