chubby-lara-croftDo you feel as though some things in the movies , magazines, TV shows and video games have gotten some ideas horribly wrong, especially when it concerns the body of a woman? Most of the time, the “ideal” body shape of a lady seems to be unrealistically attainable, and body confidence campaigners have unveiled a chubbier Lara Croft.

What you see above is a modified version of Lara Croft, the star of the super smash hit video game Tomb Raider, which has also spawned a movie of its own, too. While the chubbier version might be seen as that, it is actually the actual size of a normal woman.

Eating disorder website Bulimia.com was the one that came up with the “average-sized” version of Lara Croft, and the whole idea is to help games designers to stop the creation of unrealistic video game characters that might negatively influence the lives of young people and adults in the market. There were also mocked up versions of characters from franchises such as Tekken, Halo and Dead or Alive 5, where these once pixel-perfect bodies have received lumps and bumps that are found on normal people.

Makes sense, actually, as video games get more and more realistic, so too, should the shapes of the bodies of the characters within.
