iPhone-6-review-12

The bulk of Apple’s products are manufactured in China, this obviously includes the iPhone, which is one of the company’s most successful products. Naturally there are many shady outfits in China that are also churning out fake iPhones at a rather swift pace, we’ve even seen fake iPhones come to market before that particular model is even officially announced by Apple. The Chinese police have cracked down on one such factory in Beijing involved in the production of fake iPhones.

This fake enterprise isn’t just limited to China, these units are exported to nearby countries where customers who can’t afford the real thing go for the fake models which at least on the outside look like an iPhone.

It goes without saying that this is a lucrative business which is why so many people are involved in it, it’s also illegal, hence the crackdown by the Chinese police.

The factory was run by a couple under the guise of a gadget repair shop, they had set up six assembly lines in January this year and hundreds of workers manning stations to produce fake iPhones which were largely being exported out of the country.

Over 41,000 handsets have reportedly been produced in this factory said to be worth around $19 million. The police received a tip from U.S. authorities and conducted the raid, seizing some 1,400 devices and rounding up the culprits.
