The Tokyo Game Show will kick off on September 17th this year and will run through September 20th at the Makuhari Messe in Chiba, lots of companies will be present there to make announcements and what not but Microsoft won’t be one of them. Microsoft has participated at the Tokyo Game Show many times in this past but this time around it has other plans, plans that could see the company hold its own event for the Japanese market.

In a statement provided to the media Masayuki Inoue of the Microsoft Japan category marketing group said that Microsoft is not going to exhibit at the Tokyo Game Show this year, “but we’re making various preparations to deliver the latest Xbox news to fans and media.”

Without elaborating precisely what these “various preparations are,” Inoue said that the company will provide more information regarding this “as soon as we can.”

Throughout 2015 the Xbox is going to have a pretty impressive games line-up and that’s included titles exclusive to its gaming console.

Despite that the company is not going to be exhibiting at the Tokyo Game Show. Inoue’s comments make it seems like Microsoft is going to conduct a separate event on its own for the Japanese markets, but so far there has been no express confirmation from the company regarding this.
