When the name Olloclip comes to mind, chances are you might be thinking of the clip-on lens designed for smartphones, where all the user has to do is slide the lens onto their phone and they’re good to go. However it looks like Olloclip wants to take things further as the company has recently announced the Studio System.

The Studio System is basically a set of smartphone accessories designed to give users the best possible photography tools for their phone. Instead of just offering a lens, the Studio System includes accessories such as a finger grip, a kickstand, cold-shoe adapters, and two 1/4-20 clips for either landscape or portrait modes.

There will also be the Studio Case which sort of ties everything together. As you can see in the video above, this will turn your smartphone into a more functional camera, where you can attach flash units, attach it to a tripod, have a better grip for more stable images, and more. As expected it will also play nicely with Olloclip’s clip-on lenses.

At the moment the Studio System will only be compatible with the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus. It is a clever idea and if you’re someone who takes their smartphone photography seriously, this could be worth checking out. Granted it’s not as sleek as the Moment Case, but it is more functional albeit a bit bulky.
