Not too long ago Sony announced that they were working on a new Android concept. Recent screenshots of the concept surfaced which shows a more vanilla/stock Android experience which we suppose is a good thing, but unfortunately the concept was only limited to 500 testers who are living in Sweden and who have the Sony Xperia Z3.

That being said given how enterprising the Android community is, it didn’t really come as a surprise to find out that someone has managed to repackage Sony’s Android concept into a ROM and has released it on the XDA forums where users who are interested can go ahead and try and flash it on their devices.

According to Jozinek who posted the ROM on XDA, “Thanks to one of my friends now i am able to provide not only review of this ROM, but also download link. So everybody can try something like AOSP with Sony applications. You doesn’t need unlocked bootloader or root, just download provided FTF file and flash it with Androxyde Flashtool.”

There are instructions posted on XDA on how to proceed with the installation of the ROM, along with the download links. However Jozinek points out that there will be some features missing, like Stamina Mode, Screen Recording, or Xperia themes, but if you’re fine with that then perhaps this ROM might be worth checking out.
