gopro_banditBack in April, TomTom took the wraps off the Bandit Action Camera. This was supposedly TomTom’s answer to GoPro and the other action cameras available in the market. Now if TomTom’s offering appealed to you and you were wondering when you could get your hands on it, the time is now.

TomTom has announced that the camera will be available for purchase via its website for $399. However if you have a preference for buying on Amazon, TomTom also notes that the Bandit camera will be available on Amazon as well, albeit at a later date on the 15th of July, but it will be at the same price so you’ll just need to wait a few more days.

tomtom_banditFor those who are learning about the Bandit camera for the first time, this is TomTom’s take on the action camera. It is small, just like most other action cameras, but as you can see in the image above, it is rather long and cylindrical in shape, similar to the design of camcorders. It will come with built-in sensors and GPS so that you know where the footage was taken, and it can also help to enable recording right away.

It can even with together with the TomTom Runner to detect your heart rate. It has the ability to capture video at 4K resolution and will come with wide-angle lens and a 16MP sensor. It is also waterproof up to 50m. Its battery is removable and doubles as a USB stick, so you can transfer your photos and videos while charging it at the same time.
