toyota-hsrWe did hear of Toyota’s HSR before – which is short for “human support robot”, and it will sport a solitary mechanical arm that has the ability to grasp objects of different shapes as well as sizes, and not only that, there is also an integrated suction cup that will allow it to pick up smaller items without missing a beat. Back then in 2012, it was just a proof of concept, but it is now available, and disabled folks are also rather happy with it at the moment despite being able to perform just a solitary and simple task, that is, picking stuff up.

Toyota intends the HSR to play a role in the homes of people in the near future. Other than picking stuff up, there is also an integrated computer panel that is located on its head, where this particular computer panel will let you surf the Internet on it. Alternatively, one is also able to access the robot from a different computer, and to use it in the same manner as that of a camera-phone.

Chances are it will not be the primary device that you use to surf the Internet, as the smartphone or tablet would be far more likely mobile candidates. Still, it is a nice add-on for the HSR to have.
