pop-out-player-blogThe “problem” when watching videos in apps like YouTube or Twitch is that usually you’re stuck in the app itself, and if you were to close the app to attend to a message or email, your video would be paused. We suppose this is normal – after all you’d want to concentrate at the task at hand, right?

However Twitch has a different idea, they want you to keep watching its videos while you go about your daily tasks. The service has recently announced that they have issued an update to its Android app where users can now launch a pop-out player. This pop out player will allow gamers to continue watching Twitch streams will performing other tasks.

As you can see in the image above, the pop-out player has the ability to exist in pretty much any window, like while you’re messaging your friends. It can also exist in other apps like while you’re playing games, so say you’re watching a walkthrough or playthrough of a game, you can basically watch it and play it at the same time, although this will no doubt be quite a strain on your phone’s battery.

The updated version of Twitch is currently available for download via the Amazon Appstore or Google Play, so go ahead and download the update if you haven’t updated the app already.
