Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge owners on Verizon Wireless should keep an eye out for an update today as Big Red is sending out an incremental OTA update which makes a few tweaks to the system. There’s nothing major being offered in this update but it’s important to get on it nonetheless, it’s good practice to always keep your devices updated to the latest version of the software that’s available for them.

This minor update for the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge on Verizon carries software version LRX22G.G925VVRU2AOF1 and doesn’t bump up the core OS version even though many have anxiously been waiting for the Android 5.1 update to arrive.

Verizon will roll out that update at a later date but for now it only has this incremental OTA to offer, which enhances the reactivation lock feature by making some security improvements to ensure protection for lost or stolen devices.

Moreover the carrier has activated roaming to wireless service in Puerto Rico on these handsets through this update, that’s all there is to find in the latest OTA available for Samsung’s latest flagships on Big Red.

Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge users should soon receive an update notification on their devices informing them that an update is available, and now they know what that update is all about.
