xbox-playstation-wall-e3-2013-bIt is now July which means that we have a new month of console sales to look at. For those curious about the console wars and wanting to see who might be leading, wonder no more because for the month of June, it looks like Sony’s PlayStation 4 has taken the lead once again in the US market.

This is according to the latest figures released by the NPD Group. However this does not mean that the Xbox One is doing badly. Instead according to the numbers, the Xbox One actually saw an increase in sales by as much as 51% year-over-year for June, meaning that the console is selling 51% more than it did last year.

Sadly enough it seems that this still wasn’t good enough to overtake the PS4, although it is still encouraging because who knows, at the rate things are going, perhaps we might see the Xbox One overtake the PS4 eventually as the market begins to mature and normalize. The PS4’s lead is also apparently largely thanks to the Batman: Arkham Knight console bundles.

Interestingly enough despite the snafu with the PC version of Arkham Knight, the game still managed to top the charts for the best selling game in June, but safe to say we can only assume this was largely carried by the console versions of the game.
