buying_processXiaomi is a smartphone company while Uber is in the business of transporting people from different locations. The only thing both companies might have in common is that Uber needs users to book their services via a smartphone app. However interestingly enough it seems that both companies have decided to partner up in Asia.

According to Xiaomi, this partnership is done in conjunction with the upcoming launch of the company’s Mi Note flagship smartphone in both Singapore and Malaysia. So what does this partnership do? Basically it allows users to order the Xiaomi Mi Note via the Uber app and have an Uber driver deliver the smartphone to you.

Xiaomi’s press release reads, “Ordering a Mi Note follows the exact same process as calling for an Uber — users simply open the Uber app, use the slider at the bottom of the screen to select “Xiaomi” (which shows Xiaomi-orange colored Uber cars on the map equipped to deliver the new smartphone), and hit request. Payment will be charged directly to the credit card tied to a rider’s Uber account and a Mi Note will be delivered to the user within a few minutes.”

Unfortunately like we said, this is only a partnership available in Singapore and Malaysia at the moment, but it does open up the possibilities to future/similar partnerships – what do you guys think?
