Amazon is no stranger to tablets, the company’s Kindle Fire line has done quite well for itself even though it doesn’t really provide a conventional Android experience. The company’s tablets run heavily forked versions of Android, just like its smartphone. Rumor has it that Amazon is working on a new 12 inch tablet that might be released in limited quantities, apparently the company seeks to test the waters with this device.

Many tech companies are rumored to be building larger tablets these days, with Samsung expected to be working on an 18.4 inch Android tablet, and you’ve all heard countless rumors about Apple’s iPad Pro.

None of that has obviously been confirmed by the respective companies up till now and Amazon has also not commented on the possibility of a large tablet, the rumor comes from a trade publication based in Taiwan which has a hit or miss track record, it would be best to take this information with a grain of salt for now.

Apparently Amazon’s 12 inch tablet will only be available in limited quantities with the company placing orders for just 100,000 units per month, it’s unclear though in which markets this tablet will be released. The rumor suggests that Amazon’s 12 inch tablet will be out in the next couple of months.
