iphone-6s-display-panel-leaked

It’s not uncommon to see parts and components believed to belong to a new Apple product leak online before the device itself is actually announced so this assembled iPhone 6s display isn’t going to surprise many people. This is the first time that a picture of a fully assembled purported iPhone 6s display has been leaked and it just might show what the rumored Force Touch implementation might look like from the inside.

We’ve already been told by multiple leaks and rumors that the next-generation iPhone is going to feature a Force Touch display even though Apple has not said anything on the matter officially.

The photo you see here was first leaked on Weibo, China’s equivalent of Twitter, and it shows the back and front views of a display unit said to belong to the iPhone 6s.

From the looks of it this appears to have the same general shape and rounded edges like the display unit of the iPhone 6, there doesn’t appear to be a change in the camera or ear speaker position as well.

An off-center rectangular cutout stands out in this image with an unknown component poking through, it’s unclear at this point in time what the purpose of this component is. The shielding for this component appears to be riveted instead of using screws and clips like existing models which could indicate the presence of Force Touch technology.

The thing to remember is that these leaks are not always correct so it’s best to take them with a grain of salt.
