It hasn’t been long since AT&T’s acquisition of DirecTV was approved, this move brought together the country’s second largest mobile carrier with its biggest satellite TV provider. It was evident that AT&T would capitalize on DirecTV’s offering and the company is wasting no time in putting its new asset to work. AT&T has launched a new wireless-and-TV plan worth $200.

FCC made AT&T and DirecTV promise certain things before the merger was approved, the companies have to increase fiber optic broadband user base by 12.5 million customers which includes schools and libraries, and they’re also required to provide broadband at discounted rates to low-income customers.

This $200 promo deal is going to be rolled out nationwide in the coming week and it provides customers with AT&T U-verse TV or DirecTV basic HD TV and DVR for four receivers. Customers also get four wireless phone lines with 10GB of shareable data all for $200 per month for the first year.

To get this deal new U-verse customers have to sign up for a one year contract between August 10th and November 14th while DirecTV users have to sign up for a two year contract even though the savings worth $600 will only last one year.

AT&T has not yet said if there’s a possibility of this promo deal being extended beyond the first year.
