It has been a while since we last saw a new Elder Scrolls game, save for The Elder Scrolls Online, and the bad news is that if you’re looking forward to additional Elder Scrolls titles, you might be disappointed as Bethesda has recently confirmed that it will be a very long time before we see a new game
This is according to Bethesda’s VP of Marketing Pete Hines, who spoke during Gamescom and revealed that the company is currently focusing 100% of their efforts on releasing Fallout 4 which was announced at E3 2015 a couple of months ago. Fallout 4 is the sequel to Fallout 3 and has been years in the making, so safe to say that the company has a lot riding on it to be good.
As to when we will hear about a possible new Elder Scrolls title, let’s not forget that upon Fallout 4’s release, there will probably be a fair bit of time dedicated to the game in terms of balancing it, patching any bugs, introducing new features, and so on, so as Hines stated, it will be a very long time before the studio will be ready to discuss what’s next.
In fact it could be an entirely different game and not necessarily related to the Elder Scrolls. Heck, that was pretty much the way it was for Fallout 4 in the past few years, so if you’re a fan of the Elder Scrolls franchise, you guys are in for a wait.
