mortal kombat xAre you looking forward to hearing more about what the future of Mortal Kombat X has in store for you? If you are, you might be interested to learn that NetherRealms Studio’s Ed Boon has recently tweeted that this week, there will be some big Mortal Kombat X related news that will be revealed.

Boon also posted a photo of a moon which we can only assume alludes to whatever they are planning on announcing. That being said, we suppose we can only imagine that gamers are hoping that the news is about reversing the decision about bringing Mortal Kombat X onto last-gen consoles.

As you might have heard, Warner Bros. recently announced that they have cancelled plans to bring the game onto consoles like the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Mortal Kombat X was originally planned for a launch on last-gen consoles as well, but its release was later delayed to the summer of 2015 before Warner Bros. decided to outright cancel it.

The publisher claims that it was a quality issue and that they did not think the last-gen version of the game was good enough to be released on the older consoles. Either way chances of a reversal does seem a bit far-fetched but either check back with us later this week to find out what the future holds for the franchise.
