Blizzard’s upcoming FPS Overwatch has yet to receive a confirmed release date, which means that chances are we could be in for a wait. However in the meantime it would seem that Blizzard is still not done with the game as they have recently introduced a new hero in the form of Lúcio Correia dos Santos, or also known as Lúcio.

According to Blizzard, it seems that Lúcio will play the role as a support hero, meaning that if you’ve no ambitions of being the main guy in your team running around killing heroes, then Lúcio might be the hero for you. His abilities appear to be largely sonic-based, like wit the Sonic Amplifier abilities that can knock back other plays.

He also can energize himself and his team mates with music (kind of like a bard). This includes being able to boost the speed of himself and his team, and the other is to help regenerate health. His sonic abilities also allows him to create shields for him and his team mates, so like we said these are largely support-base abilities, versus more direct damage heroes.

This isn’t the first new hero that Blizzard has introduced since the game was announced. Last month they introduced a hero called Soldier: 76. A closed beta of Overwatch is expected to be launched soon (rumored for the fall) but we have yet to hear anything, but in the meantime gamers who are interested can go ahead and sign up for it.
