AT&T has closed its acquisition of DirecTV and this means that the company can now get down to increasing its wireless customers, it has already started offering a $200 wireless-and-TV plan and now it’s offering up to $500 to DirecTV customers who agree to switch their phone service to AT&T. The company has announced that DirecTV customers get $500 in credits in each live that they move to its network.

The credits are broken down as a $300 bill credit per line that’s ported with a new smartphone purchased on the AT&T Next equipment installment plan alongside a $200 credit for an eligible smartphone trade in.

These credits are also available in the same manner to subscribers of the AT&T U-verse platform that was already being operated by the company before its acquisition of DirecTV.

AT&T has also said that “as a bonus” it will provide 10,000 “Plenti” points to U-verse TV and DirecTV customers switching to an AT&T line provided they combine their combine their TV and wireless service into a single bill.

These Plenti points from American Express are reward points which can be redeemed for services through partners that include RiteAid, Macy’s, Exxon and Mobil. This new deal is available to both individual and business customers.
