Microsoft has made a few major Xbox related announcements today as part of its appearance at Gamescom and the company is not quite done yet. It has announced that future titles released as part of the Xbox 360 Games with Gold program will be playable on the Xbox One as well. For those who are unaware Microsoft has already confirmed backwards compatibility for the Xbox One which means that the console will soon be fully capable of playing Xbox 360 games.

Games with Gold is a subscription program offered by Microsoft that provides games with various services, it also gives them access to a few titles for free every month on both the Xbox 360 and Xbox One.

Those who only have the Xbox One but would like to play future titles that are offered for free to Xbox 360 users as part of Games with Gold, they will be able to play those games thanks to backwards compatibility.

The Xbox One backward compatibility feature is currently limited to members of the Xbox Preview Program but Microsoft has confirmed today that this feature will be rolled out for all Xbox One users this November.

Games with Gold members on Xbox One will thus get more bang for their buck, not only will they get free access to the titles offered for Xbox One, they will also be able to play games offered for Xbox 360 at no additional charge.
