As serious and competitive as some games are, sometimes a brief bout of levity can be introduced by its developers through easter eggs, which for those who are unfamiliar with the term are basically little hidden features inside games and software that aren’t really meant to be there in the first place.

Now for those who are playing Blizzard’s Heroes of the Storm, you might be interested to learn that Blizzard has introduced an easter egg in the game and it appears to be paying homage to Duck Hunt, the classic Nintendo game that made its debut on the NES more than 20 years ago, as discovered by the folks at HeroesNexus.

What this easter egg does is it allows you to play a game of Duck Hunt in the game’s loading screen. According to the website, “After clicking on the trees, a duck will come out and you will have a few bullets to hit it. Spamming mouse clicks won’t work. Hitting it with one of the first few shots grants more points. If you miss all shots, the duck will “fly away”. Rounds become more difficult as you progress, with Ducks moving ultra fast!”

It’s actually a pretty cool feature and a great way to pass the time as the game loads. If you’d like to see it in action, check out the video above for the details.
