iPhone-6-review-12The next-gen iPhones have yet to be announced. In fact the closest thing we have is a rumored release date which is set for the 9th of September, but it seems that over in Germany, local carrier Deutsche Telekom has decided to get the jump on reservations for Apple’s new iPhones, as confirmed by German website Apfelpage.de (via BGR).

According to the website, it seems that Deutsche Telekom has launched an online reservation system for Apple’s next-gen iPhones. What does this mean? Basically it’s sort of like a super early pre-order. Customers who register their interest with valid information will sort of guarantee them preferred delivery for when the smartphone is released.

However in case it wasn’t obvious already, this offer is only valid for those living in Germany. At the moment it does not seem that US carriers or carriers around the world have started similar offers themselves. That being said, given how notoriously difficult it is to get an iPhone at launch, perhaps this early reservation system might be a good idea.

This is not the first time that Deutsche Telekom has done this. It has been pointed out that in the past, the carrier has run similar promotions with regards to Apple’s older iPhones, so we guess this doesn’t really come as a surprise.
