pes 2014If you’re a fan of football video games, chances are you might have heard of or might have even played Konami’s PES franchise. Now unfortunately if you are still playing PES 2014, you might be disappointed to learn that Konami will be shutting down the game’s servers in November later this year.

To be more specific, the closure date is the 17th of November so if you want to get some online play in, you have until then to do so. Now it does seem odd that Konami will be shutting down the servers of a game that’s a little over two years old, but apparently the company wants to focus on its upcoming PES 2016 title.

They also want to help free up some resources as the company shifts its focus to newer consoles like the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. This is compared to PES 2014 which is only available on the PC, Xbox 360, and the PlayStation 3, although to be fair PES 2016 will be available on older consoles as well.

In fact a free demo is set for a launch on the 13th of August so gamers might want to keep an eye out for that. In the meantime for those who are looking forward to playing PES 2016, the game has been pegged for a release in September.
