A couple of months ago Square Enix announced Lara Croft GO. This is a turn-based puzzle game based on the Tomb Raider franchise with Lara Croft as the main character, but then again it’s not as if anyone else would be a better candidate. That being said it was not mentioned as to when the game would be released, at least until now.

According to an announcement made by Square Enix, it has been revealed that Lara Croft GO will be released on the 27th of August, so if you are looking forward to the game, you have a few weeks left of waiting before you will be able to play it. The style and graphics of the game reminds us of Hitman GO (and to a certain extent Monument Valley) but then again, it’s by the same developers so it should really not come as a surprise.

Not much is known about the game for now but based on its description, “Explore the ruins of an ancient civilization, discover hidden secrets and face deadly challenges as you uncover the myth of the Queen of Venom.” The studio was quoted as saying, “Working in close partnership with Crystal Dynamics, we are excited to tap into the nostalgic love we have for the ultimate female adventurer, Lara Croft, and bring you… the Essence of Adventure!”

No word on pricing either but considering the price of Hitman GO, we expect that Lara Croft GO will be priced similarly if not close, and it should also come with several in-app purchases that gamers can opt to purchase.
