mysterious lg smartwatchAccording to a report earlier this week, a mysterious LG smartwatch made its way to the FCC. The FCC filing did not reveal the photos of the device, but there was a diagram included that showed off a rectangular-shaped design. Given that the filing was recent and LG’s previous smartwatches are of the circular variety, we could only conclude that this is a new device.

Now thanks to new photos that have made their way online, we are getting a better idea of what to expect. As you can see in the image above, the wearable pictured does resemble the diagram we saw at the FCC. Also from its design and its tiny label that says “Sport”, chances are this wearable could be marketed as a fitness product.

This would be a change of pace for LG as the company’s previous smartwatch, the LG Watch Urbane, was marketed as a luxury fashion product. Unfortunately specs of this particular device remain unknown, but apparently it will not run on Android Wear so there is a chance that this might be more of a fitness tracker than a smartwatch.

In any case hopefully LG will announce this device at IFA which takes place next month, so if you’d like to learn more, do check back with us then for the details!
