Rumors about this have been kicking in for a while now, and Microsoft’s commitment to Windows Phone platform is making it possible. Initially, the rumors sparked up with the Lumia 940 and Lumia 940XL and then it shifted to Lumia 950 and Lumia 950XL. In the latest turn of events, things have started looking up again and we might finally see Microsoft launching a Lumia 940, Lumia 940 XL and a Lumia 840 within this year.

In accordance with the sources, the Lumia 940 will feature a 5.2-inch QHD display, and will be powered by a 64-bit 1.8GHz hexa-core Snapdragon 808 processor coupled with 3GB of RAM, Adreno 418 GPU, and 32GB of expandable internal storage. It will sport a 20-megapixel rear camera, a 5-megapixel front camera, a 3,000mAh battery, and will run the latest Windows 10.

Now coming on to the Lumia 940XL, which is a bigger variant of the Lumia 940. It will feature a 5.7-inch QHD display, and will be powered by a 2GHz octa-core Snapdragon 810 SoC paired with 3GB of RAM, Adreno 430 GPU, 32GB of expandable internal storage, and will run Windows 10 out-of-the-box. On the other hand, the Lumia 840 will be a dual-SIM mid-ranger with a 5-inch display, 13-megapixel PureView camera along with a 5-megapixel front camera.

These upcoming Lumia handsets will be crafted in polycarbonate and will be 7mm to 8mm thick. Having said that, all the aforementioned information still stands under the leak and is highly tentative. We will be on a lookout for more information in the future.
