If you own a Windows-powered computer, particularly one that is touch-enabled, and take screenshots often then you’re going to love Microsoft’s new tool. It’s called Snip and it has been released today in beta, Snip lets you easily take screenshots and then annotate on them and even record audio over the top. So if you want to easily create a screen tutorial on your computer all you need now is the Microsoft Snip app, it’s that easy.

Snip will hover at the top of the desktop so that it’s always instantly available to capture desktop screen, webcam shot or just pull up a whiteboard for you to scribble on.

Screenshots are automatically copied to the clipboard but if edits are made with digital ink it’s then transformed into an MP4 files that can be embedded into websites. It’s touch friendly with full pen support making it much easier to draw and write on the screenshots directly.

Considering that the app is in beta stage right now it does have a couple of bugs which will certainly be sorted out in due time. Microsoft Snip is available as a free beta with an option to send the company feedback about the features, a finished version that’s more polished and less buggy may arrive in the near future.
