ps-vita-slim-review-12The PS Vita from Sony has been around for three years now, where the second year into the portable console’s life saw a redesign that resulted in the PS Vita Slim, and it does not look as though there is too much of a market for dedicated portable consoles in the near future, what with smartphones and tablets with their casual gaming mantra taking over. Well, it looks like a video of a prototype PlayStation Vita has surfaced, although that video has been made private – so ordinary folks are unable to see it.

Word has it that this prototype PS Vita will boast of a sliding face that pays homage to the PSP Go range of handhelds, and it will also make use of generic memory cards – something that many of Sony’s PSP and PS Vita owners have long asked for, but never received.

Of course, this is not the first time that a PS Vita prototype example has surfaced, although it has been claimed that approximately 100 of these specimens were produced before Sony decided to settle on the final design that we have all come to see and know today. As for these prototypes, they were supposed to have been disposed of, but you can be sure that this is rarely the case. In fact, an alleged PS Vita prototype was touted to be sold for $700 a couple of years back.
