Just the other day it seemed that Verizon might have discontinued the Sony Xperia Z3v. This led to speculation that the Sony Xperia Z4v, which was announced a couple of months ago, would be on its way. As it turns out the speculators might have been right about that. In fact the rumored date is for the 3rd of September.

This is according to a recent video put out by Total Tech (see embedded video above). In the video, he claims that the Xperia Z4v will be launched on Verizon on the 3rd of September. This is good news given that the phone was announced several months ago, so we can’t be sure why it’s taken Verizon and Sony this long to release it.

It is expected to be priced at $599 but during the launch week, there will apparently be a promotion where it will be priced at $499 and you will be given a $100 Google Play gift card as well that you can use towards buying apps, movies, music, and more. Take it with a grain of salt for now, but we’re a couple of weeks away from September so we won’t have to wait too long to find out.

Now just in case you’re wondering about the phone, the Xperia Z4v is basically a slightly souped up version of the Sony Xperia Z4. It will sport a slightly different design but the main difference is that it will come with a QHD display, versus the Full HD display on the Xperia Z4/Xperia Z3+.
