There are speakers in the market which are designed for audiophiles, then there are speakers designed for mobility, then there are also speakers designed to be hi-tech and come packed with all sorts of features like touchscreen displays and more. This means that if you wanted all those features, you’d basically have to end up buying multiple speakers which can be expensive.

Enter SparkBlocks. This is a Kickstarter project for a set of modular speakers, which by its description alone should clue you in on what to expect. Basically these are speakers whose features and functions and arrangement can be determined by you as per your need. Its base unit is a portable speaker with a 4-hour battery life so if you’re after portability, you’re all set. However if you wanted more, like extra speakers, you can do that as well.

There are other modules that you can add to it, like a LED display that displays the visualizer effects of your music. There is also a SmartBlock attachment that allows users to answer calls, change songs, download apps, and get notifications via the module itself as opposed to using your smartphone or computer.

It’s definitely an interesting setup and if you think that this is something you might be interested in, then head on over to its Kickstarter page to pledge your support. There are 4 days left in the project so there’s still time for you to get in on it. In the meantime you can watch the video above to get an idea of what to expect.
