tesla_airbnbOne of the reasons why some drivers don’t want to adopt electric cars is that the availability of charging stations aren’t as frequent as a gas station. In terms of availability, Tesla has been making some pretty good efforts, with the company recently entering into a partnership with several garages around Manhattan to provide charging stations to electric car drivers.

Now it seems like the company is furthering the deployment of these charging stations by partnering up with Airbnb. This new partnership will see charging stations deployed at more premium Airbnb properties along the West Coast. These charging stations will be free of charge so as long as you have an electric vehicle that needs charging, you should be able to use it.

However not all Airbnb locations will be able to install the chargers. There is a requirement and that is the property must be an entire home. It must also have had more than five bookings, a rating of 4+, before they can be eligible to be selected. After that, they will need to pay for installation which could cost $900.

That being said, Tesla seems to believe that by placing a charger in these locations, it will encourage Tesla owners to stay at those properties, which in turn could make up for the difference in installation costs.
